Maetal was born and raised in San Francisco, California, and has lived in Boston for the past 8 years. After studying the History of Science as an undergrad, she worked in maternal and infant healthcare at Boston Medical Center before returning to medical school. She is currently a medical student at Harvard, and hopes to become a physician dedicated to the intersections of reproductive rights and queer healthcare.

Current Project(s):

I am working with Dr. Grimstad to create flyers and other informational materials for websites, offices, and social media platforms describing her publications. This project is being done with the hopes of bringing the new knowledge and scientific findings her projects have generated, in more accessible settings and language, to the communities about and for which the studies and projects have been done in the first place!
